Frankfurt vs Colonia

Frankfurt have undoubtedly had a good start to the regular season, both nationally and locally. They are unbeaten since the start of the second half of the year and will be looking to build on that success.

Cologne lost their last two games, but managed to qualify for the DFB Pokal by a narrow margin.

Last season, Frankfurt had an excellent season in the Bundesliga, finishing seventh in the table after 13 wins in 34 games, qualifying for the Europa League Conference play-offs and reaching the DFB Pokal final, where they were beaten 2-0 by Leipzig.

The current season has got off to a positive start for the team, who have taken four points out of six in the Bundesliga, qualified for the last 15 rounds of the DFB Pokal and reached the group stage of the Europa Conference League after beating Levski 3-1 in the final. 

Despite losing their biggest attacking weapon from last season, Randal Kolo Muani, Frankfurt have been very strong offensively, managing to score in each of their five games so far.

After two wins in their final Bundesliga games last season, Cologne have managed to stay in the top half of the Bundesliga, beating the relegated teams with a total of nine points.

After a pre-season that can be considered quite positive, as the team didn't lose any of the six games they played, nothing they showed can be extended to the first games of the Bundesliga, as they lost in the two games they played, the last of which was against Wolfsburg, 1-2.

It should be noted that the team narrowly managed to qualify for the last 16 of the DFB Pokal after beating Osnabruck in the first knockout round, with extra time.
