Lyon vs PSG

Gone are the days when Lyon was one of the best teams in France. Although the team still carries some weight, defeats have become a frequent feature of their results and their chances of qualifying for international tournaments are very remote.

After the arrival of Psg's Arab millions, the team became arguably the most important in the French league, but recent results have not been entirely positive and the team currently finds itself in mid-table.

For the second season running, Lyon have failed to qualify for international tournaments, a situation that reflects the team's poor form in recent tournaments. Although the attacking level remains quite high, with Alexander Lacazette as the main player, the defensive level is very poor.

After a total of 18 wins in 28 matches, only five points separated the team from the international qualification zone last season, while the club's current situation hasn't got off to the best start either, having taken just one point from a possible nine. 

The team suffered two defeats in their first two Ligue 1 games, while in the last one they managed a 0-0 draw against Nice, in a game in which they didn't generate many goalscoring opportunities, and it should be noted that the team's great attacking card, Lacazette, won't be present because he has to serve a suspension.

Psg have not been the dominant team of previous seasons in their recent league campaign. They are just one point ahead of Lens to win the title for the second time in a row, having won it in 2022.

The truth is that the team currently coached by Luis Enrique didn't start the season in the best way, drawing two of their opening games and only managing to win their last game, against Psg, 3-1.
