River Plate vs Racing

River Plate managed to become champions of the Argentine professional league just a few dates apart. The team managed to maintain a very positive campaign, reminiscent in many respects of the team previously coached by Marcelo Gallardo.

Racing Club represented the other side of the coin this season. After being in contention for the title last season, the team has failed to achieve too many positive results this season and is currently struggling to qualify for an international tournament next season.

River Plate have won 18 of their 26 matches in the current Argentinian professional league, and have suffered just four defeats in the same period.

The team's attacking prowess is one of its greatest strengths, as it has managed to score an average of almost two goals per game, while its defensive prowess has been excellent, with an average of less than one goal per game.

At home, the team managed to maintain the best record in terms of points scored, and out of 12 matches played, it achieved 11 wins and just one defeat, while in this situation the average number of goals scored by the team was two per match.

It should be noted, however, that the team has not performed at its best in recent matches. Despite the fact that points are no longer required in the professional league, which has caused them to slow down, they have won just once in their last four matches, including the elimination from the Argentine Cup.

Racing's debut in the current professional league has been a negative one, compared to what the team managed to show last season. Constant defeats or draws in the matches played cast doubt on Fernando Gago's continuity at the helm of the team.

The truth is that the team has begun to improve recently, managing to maintain a total of 10 consecutive games without defeat, for all tournaments played, which gives the Academy a chance of participating in an international tournament next season, but this does not depend on itself.
