Racing vs Central Córdoba

A lot was expected of Racing this season after they showed great promise in the last tournament, reaching the final, but now they are struggling in mid-table.

Centra Córdoba has been in the bottom half of the table for several games, but in recent matches has shown a good level that even raised the prospect of possible international qualification, an idea that has faded with the last two results.

Racing's season has been a far cry from what the team showed last year. The academy was able to maintain consecutive games where victory was difficult to achieve, a situation that led to the thought of the possible dismissal of Fernando Gago as coach.

However, the situation has been gradually improving and the team currently has nine games without a loss in the professional league, with six draws in that period, while it remains alive in the Libertadores Cup, where it managed to qualify first in its group, and in the Argentine Cup, where it recently qualified for the round of 16.

Playing at home, the team has managed to achieve its best results, losing only three games in this situation, scoring 17 goals, which makes it one of the teams with the most goals scored in front of its fans.

Central Córdoba has won a total of 7 games so far in the professional league, after 25 games played, while losing 10 in that period. The railroad team has gone 6 games without a loss in the tournament, but this positive streak was interrupted by two defeats in the last two games.

The last of those defeats was against Independiente by 0-1, while, just like in that game, they failed to score any goal in the previous encounter against Rosario Central.

It is worth noting that in only one of the last seven games played have both teams managed to score during the 90 minutes, while away from home there have been only two wins in 12 games, and none in the last five.
