Olimpia vs Nacional

After two games, Olimpia have failed to pick up any points in the tournament and need to win at all costs to stay top of the table, but they face a tough opponent.

Nacional have managed just one point from their first two games. Therefore, they also need a win this time around as they are currently bottom of the table.

After a run of four straight wins, including in the Copa Libertadores, Olimpia have suffered three consecutive defeats, including elimination from the Paraguayan Cup by second-tier San Lorenzo on penalties.

In the final of the Paraguayan tournament, the team was beaten 3-2 by Resistencia in a game in which it managed to get a lead it could not maintain, before conceding the three goals that led to the team's defeat.

Given that the team managed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Libertadores Cup, which will take place in August, and given that they have already been eliminated from the Paraguayan Cup, Olimpia will have to focus on the Paraguayan tournament, at least for now.

Last season, Nacional managed to finish in the top half of the table with a total of nine wins from 22 games played. Although the team showed a good level of offensive play, the defense was not up to par, with almost as many goals conceded as scored.

During the current season, the team has suffered only one defeat. In the last match of the opening tournament, they drew 1-1 with Tacuary. It is worth noting that the team qualified for the next round of the Paraguay Cup after recently beating Cristóbal Colon Jas 0-2.

It is fair to say that Nacional have a good away record, but they have won just one of their last five away games and lost three of them this season.
